Life beyond medicine… Music

I will be honest. Living out of medicine alone is not for me. At least this is what I feel now. I am simply unable to live in that world alone. Basically, and giving it a bit more thought, I am unable to live in a medium of “exclusivity policy” anywhere. I think it is uncomfortable, claustrophobic and even disabling. Perhaps this is the reason I choose to leave this cocoon (beware, it is a huge cocoon) and explore other worlds. Music is one of them. In fact, it is the largest. My other worlds are politics, philosophy, life. But […]

Beyond Medicine…Being an Animator at CUPAV

There is a vast world full of opportunities Beyond Medicine that makes us richer as young people, students and future professionals. Run by the Jesuits, it is a university area for university people. There is a group of animators to ensure that activities reach other people, and also to organize the […]

You can read more about Deep Web, which is believed to be hundreds of times bigger than ‘Surface web’ […]

Reason vs. Emotion: Complementary or Contradictory? Current challenges in the workplace

In a very general definition, emotion is a neural impulse that makes an organism take a particular action. However, we can describe it as sudden and acute affective state triggered by a perception, which can be external or internal, or a representation, which can be real or imagined, characterised by a more or less intense activation of the neurological processes, such as glandular, muscular, respiratory, cardiac, and vasomotor changes. It is in adaptive decision-making that emotions play an important role, showing that there is no reason without emotion. In themselves, emotions cannot show anything; they are not able to speak, […]
