Awarded by the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation in Manila, Philippines, it is intended to recognize individuals or organizations that have contributed to global peace and respect for human life and dignity, giving visibility to the best worldwide initiatives focused on human ideals and values.
Regarded by many the Asian Nobel Prize, every year, in the fourth week of November, on Wednesday, this event is held as a form of continuing the work developed by Gemeniano Javier Gusi, a famous politician committed to the defence of Human Rights.
It is with great pride that the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon congratulates Professor Madalena Patrício, celebrating this honourable distinction with her.
