Final Master’s Papers at the FMUL University Clinic for Infectious Diseases
On 16 March, 2018 2018 | Research and Advanced Education Comments Off on Final Master’s Papers at the FMUL University Clinic for Infectious Diseases No tagsInfectious diseases continue to have an enormous impact on global health. The famous quote from William H. Stewart, which is about 60 years old and has been repeated thousands of times (“It’s time to close the book on infectious diseases, declare the war against pestilence won, and shift national resources to such chronic problems as cancer and heart disease”), could hardly be more wrong.
The worrying increase in the resistance to antibiotics, the persistence of “old” diseases like tuberculosis, the complexity of the HIV infection and of the other diseases related to immunosuppression and the emergence of new infectious diseases in recent decades have made infectology crucial to medical knowledge.
The students of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine (MIM) also consider Infectology as an important part of the MIM curriculum and many have chosen the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases to complete their Integrated Master’s Degree in Medicine (MIM) Final Paper. The links to the 114 Final Papers developed at the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases are available here, as it is believed that they may be useful to other FMUL students/teachers.
These papers demonstrate the students’ interest, but also the teachers’ enthusiasm for this pedagogical aspect.
