The study on “The Cost and Burden of Schizophrenia in Portugal” by the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon is warning of the high numbers of patients with schizophrenia.
This study was based on data relating to 2015 and aims at giving a perspective on both the number of patients and the costs incurred by the country, while drawing attention to the fact that there is a large number of patients who are not being treated neither in the private, nor in the public system.
