By Cristina Bastos On 13 July, 2017 2017 | Keep in Mind Comments Off on INNOVATIVE TRAINING IN CLINICAL RESEARCH Tags: sliderThe first edition of the course “All about Clinical Research… a focused training for the busy investigators and study teams” was held at the Association for Research and Development of the Faculty of Medicine (AIDFM) on 22 and 23 May.
Organized by CROCETERA, a department of AIDFM, the aim of this course was to enable participants to acquire a set of skills that will enable them to conduct and participate in clinical research activities, in particular with regard to their roles in clinical research teams within the scope of Clinical Studies and Trials.
The course was aimed at Research Teams (from Cardiologists Researchers to Internal Doctors, Nurses, Cardio-pulmonologists and Study Coordinators) so that they are trained and properly informed of all procedures and current requirements related to Clinical Studies and Trials. In this sense, the focus is to optimize research teams regarding their performance and response to the needs of the promoters, be they academics or Industry.
The Scientific Committee of the course is composed of specialists of recognized merit and extensive experience in research: Professor Fausto J. Pinto, Professor Dulce Brito, Professor Joaquim Ferreira, Dr Catarina Sousa and Dr Cristina Valente.
The opening session was led by Doctor Inês Zimbarra Cabrita, Director of CETERA. The course had eight programme sessions, which were conducted by a large panel of presenters.

This edition was attended by ten participants from different professional areas who participated actively and were globally evaluated at the end of the course in order to obtain a participation certificate and a Good Clinical Practices certificate.
The event was a success, with high scientific quality, and promoted net-working among participants.
The next edition of the course will be held on 16 and 17 October 2017.
