Currently, the IMM-Biobank stores thousands of samples, namely blood, serum, saliva, urine, bone, DNA, tumour tissue and corresponding clinical information, and is a unique platform that provides technical support to research about the origin of diseases with major impact on the health of citizens, such as cancer or osteoporosis.
The IMM-Biobank is part of the BBMRI European network of biobanks. This year it has participated in several international projects, for which it gave over 1.500 samples.
It celebrated its first anniversary on 13 November 2013.
