A large part will be dedicated to the medical sciences.
In the present edition, we offer some more suggestions, which may also be added to the favourites link.
Free Science Information
The Science Information site is a web page maintained by Ana Paula Margarido de Azevedo and Manuel Montenegro. Despite being recent, it is a space of reference for those who wish to keep abreast of free access online publications covering several scientific fields, including medical sciences. As an example, click here to access a text on malaria research here.
Scielo – Scientific Electronic Library Online
The bibliographic database Scielo – Scientific Electronic Library Online contains around 650 free access online periodicals in various languages, including Portuguese and Spanish. The periodicals come from various countries, including from of Latin America, Portugal, and South Africa. Actually, more than a database, Scielo is also a model of collaborative network electronic publishing.
Página da Biblioteca-CDI
On the page of Biblioteca-CDI, this is the section dedicated to medical resources available on the Internet. Amongst other materials, you will find directories and portals, web pages of several national institutions, news, clinical cases, international organizations, etc.
Exploratorium
The Exploratorium offers a romantic and fantastic view of science without falling into a restricted academic medium. It allows us to take an interesting journey through the world of science, which suffices to feed our natural curiosity and desire to know more, without using the academic jargon that characterizes many publications.
Here you will be able to know and learn more about a large variety of topics, such as the explorations undertaken by ship Okeanos Explorer, what fossils are and how their registration is made, and other interesting curiosities, including how to determine the weight of several materials and of our own bodies…in other planets of the solar system.
DigLitWeb
DigLitWeb is a web page dedicated to electronic writing and publishing, which, according to its authors “opened a new chapter in the production, distribution, reception, and research of literary art”. As one can read on the site, “the purpose of the survey contained in DigLitWeb is to look at forms, processes, and practices of digital intermediation”.
