In a working context, and for someone who strongly believes in teamwork and joint effort that can provide answers and overcome individual decisions and whims in favour of common objectives, the possibility of joining the Newsletter Editorial Team of an institution such as FMUL, which has a considerable number of professionals with a diversity of training backgrounds and experiences, is an opportunity I could never have turned down. Hence, it is it utmost pleasure that I have accepted the invitation.
Every week I am involved in the process when ideas start to take shape, timidly and lacking consistence in terms of form and content at first, and in the necessary and healthy discussions that lead to projects ripening up and attain consistence and content as a result of the commitment of all. At the end of the day, if things go well, the whole is always much larger than the sum of its parts.
My expectations regarding the Newsletter are high, and I have a wish I would like to see fulfilled: that the entire institution can identify itself with this Newsletter and that all perceive it as a privileged vehicle for expressing and sharing personal and professional experiences, alongside individual ideas, projects, critique, etc., in every single issue. This way, we will all be able to build an even better FMUL.

At a time of restructuring and change, I was given the opportunity to be part of the team working on the Newsletter of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon.
Despite the fact that being involved in this kind of work is not new to me, it acquired a distinct flavour when I was invited to join a team.
Albeit at an early stage, it has been quite an engrossing experience that I am enjoying very much. And, at times of change, why not take on this challenge?
It all started, perhaps, with the articles I sent for one edition or another, until the day the invitation came from the editorial board, stating that my contribution could add value to the team…These words alone amply justify the additional effort that this task will bring, alongside all the rest that awaits me in the future.
After all, it means that my performance over the last 5 years at FMUL has been recognized.
I, therefore, express my thanks to all members of the team for trusting me, a trust I will always try to deserve by doing my very best.
I believe we will continue to meet the objectives we set for each edition, and successfully overcome the obstacles and problems that insist on popping up our way.
